Initial Text
One of:
[A] Bubbles dance through the liquid in the massive glass tube.
[B] A mass of shifting congealed tissue float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[B] A mass of shifting organs float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[C] A mass of shifting eyes float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[D] A mass of shifting bones float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[D] A mass of shifting heavy bones float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[D] A mass of shifting arms float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
[E] A mass of shifting brains float near the center of the tube, slowly buffeted by the streams of bubbles.
The only control that seems to be functioning is a well-worn dial. It's currently set at 1.
Dial: __
Summary of Choices
- Turn the dial
- Leave it be

Turn the dial
Turning the dial to 0:
With nothing in the tube:
You drain the fluid out of the tube.
You found: experimental beakerWith only bones:
The bone in the tube dissolves away as you drain the fluid. Hmmm, guess it must not have been done.
You found: experimental beaker
With finished parts:
You drain the tube, filtering out what it's grown. <and, sometimes, also?> It… seems to stop changing once it's been removed from the liquid.
(one of)
You found: tubegrown eyes (from "shifting eyes")You found: tubegrown organ (from "shifting organs")
You found: stitched arms (from "shifting arms")
You found: stitched legs (from "shifting legs")
You found: tubegrown bones (from "shifting heavy bones")
You found: tubegrown brain (from "shifting brains")
With all six parts:
You drain the liquid from the tube, slowly uncovering a collection of twisted bones and nameless organs. The mound of flesh shudders, assembling itself into something like a humanoid shape and lunges at you, seemingly undeterred by the glass.

Turning the dial to 1:
You leave the dial at 1. It doesn't spontaneously do anything weird… weirder than what it was already doing, at least.
Turning the dial to other numbers (varies by player):
One of:
You turn the dial to <x>, but nothing seems to happen except for the continual flow of bubbles.
(Can happen even with a substance in the tube.)You turn the dial to <x> and the liquid near the center of the tube congeals into a viscous substance that resembles raw meat.
You turn the dial to <x> and motes of white matter slowly collect near the center of the tube, eventually accreting into a set of bones.
With tissue:
You turn the dial to <x> and the protoflesh inside the tube dissolves back into liquid.
You turn the dial to <x> and the protoflesh inside the tube shudders, staring eyes emerging from its surface.
You turn the dial to <x> and the protoflesh inside the tube shudders, then begins beating like the heart you didn't know you needed.
You turn the dial to <x> and the protoflesh inside the tube shudders, collapsing in on itself like the folds of a brain.
With bones:
You turn the dial to <x> and the bones in the tube break into white motes that slowly disperse back into the liquid.
You turn the dial to <x> and the bones inside shudder, liquid congealing around them to form something like legs.
You turn the dial to <x> and the bones inside shudder… seeming to shrink in on themselves, possibly becoming denser.
With a brain:
You turn the dial to <x> and motes of white matter slowly collect near the center of the tube, eventually accreting into a set of bones.
Meanwhile, the remaining protoflesh in the tube dissolves back into liquid.
Leave it be
It's probably best to just leave mysterious dials alone, even when they're connected to exciting bubbling contraptions.
