Medicines are Usable Items that restore your Hit Points.
Each consecutive use of a healing item will yeld dimnishing returns until you take a rest, at which point the next use will have full effects again. The amount healed decreases exponentially, approximately following the formula:
Amount healed = (Base healing of the item) x (0.9)^(number of heals in a row) (approximately - see discussion)
After 5 heals the following message appears:
This doesn't seem to be doing as much as it could. You might just need to rest.
After 10 heals the following message appears:
Your body's pretty beaten up. There's only so much medicine can do without a good rest.
