Stretches of movable scaffolding have been erected through the ballroom. Although large sections are still bare, some people have started draping crepe paper over them, making them soft walls.

The oranges and blacks are certainly festive, but also unnatural. Some of the mellower colors make the wall look more like an actual surface, but the festive stuff will do.

Etheric:

As you approach the wall, the guard moves to intercept, but a massive force bursts out from beneath the crepe, resolving into a twisted form of jagged polysteel. You're not certain what the guard sees, but he immediately flees.
