Initial Text
In your explorations, you find a strange phenomenon. It seems if you travel far enough south, the water becomes almost black with toxic sludge.
Now that, in and of itself, wouldn't surprise you. After all, you're getting close to the Slags.
What's a little disconcerting is how it seems like a line was drawn through a lake. On this side, the water is polluted and undrinkable but at least allows clear visibility. On the far side, the water approaches opaque and seems likely to burn exposed skin.
Summary of Choices
- Head south - Head to Lake Metroplex South
- Explore the border - Gain 4 XP Perception
- Turn around - Walk away

Head south
With Diving Ability below 3?
You trudge to the south. It's a long journey along the sea floor, but you eventually make it into the dark waters.
(Enter Lake Metroplex (South); Lose 1 Energy?)
With Diving Ability of 3 or more?
You glide gracefully to the south, covering a vast distance as you approach the toxic reaches of Lake Metroplex near the Slags.
(Enter Lake Metroplex (South))
Explore the border
You explore the border. It's sudden, really, the divide between slight pollution and overwhelming pollution.
You spend a while exploring that crisp boundary. There's a definite difference between the two bodies of water, despite being separated by only a few feet.
Even waving the southern water into the cleaner norther water doesn't seem to do anything. You'd guess it's just being diluted, but the pollutants might just vanish.
You've earned 4 XP in Perception
