Description | The puzzle box itself is almost stranger than the trick of changing it between forms. It's obviously supposed to look like a pyramid but the writing on it isn't any modern language or anything you'd associate with pyramids. Maybe they're trying to tell you something. But that's nothing compared to when you touch the pyramid and can see through the polished red gem at its apex. |

Randomly chosen from the following:
Do Nothing (?)
Try as you might, it doesn't seem to turn into anything other than a pyramid. The gemstone eye glares at you mockingly.
Flatten it into a tablet
Eventually, you turn the pyramid upside-down and fold the other pieces around it, creating a flat tablet.
You found: Mysterious Puzzle Tablet
Collapse it into a rod
From one corner, you work along, methodically folding the pyramid into a long prism.
You found: Mysterious Puzzle Rod
Revert it to a cube
Eventually enough pieces are free to turn the pyramid back into it's original form. It's definitely easier going in reverse.
You found: Mysterious Puzzle Box
Realign the runes
(If not under Puzzle Sight effect)
The runes slide into a different configuration. You still can't read them, but they seem pretty interesting.
(Adds five uses of Runic Puzzle in tablet form)
(If under Puzzle Sight effect)
Working from the top, you subtly move the pyramid to realign the text on its walls. Doesn't mean much here, but you're sure the tablet will say something different now.
The runes slide into a different configuration. You still can't read them, but they seem pretty interesting.
(Adds five uses of Runic Puzzle in tablet form)
(If under Blood of the Ancients effect)
The runes slide into a different configuration. You think you might be able to read them if they were flat rather than wrapped randomly around a pyramid.
Open the compartment
(If locked)
A small metal plate at the base of the pyramid trembles but just won't seem to open.
(If unlocked from tablet form, first time per day)
A small chamber clicks open at the base of the pyramid and strange red flakes fall out, smelling strongly of blood.
You found: Red Flakes
(If unlocked from tablet form, subsequent times)
The small chamber that opens at the base of the pyramid seems to be empty. You did just clear it out a little while ago, after all.
Stare into the eye
You stare into the eye-like gem and from the gem back at yourself until your vision is completely consumed by red light. When you eventually realize you've phased out and start paying attention to the world around you again, your vision seems crisper and your mind faster.
You gain: Puzzle's Gaze (10 energy)
(or, if charges have been used)
You stare into the eye. The light surrounds you as before, but it seems dimmer somehow, almost like every time you use it, you take a bit of its light.
You gain: Puzzle's Gaze (10 energy)
(or, with Puzzle's Gaze active)
Although your vision seems far more precise in the outside world, the puzzle doesn't make any sense at the moment. Perhaps that red light was a defense mechanism.
