Outline
The Oldtown quest is slightly different depending on who you choose as a contact in the Survivors Quest, but all routes generally involve:
- Accessing the Records Vault:
- Most routes involve infiltrating the Records Office, although you can also access the Records Vault directly by hacking the BigDig (see below).
- Once in the vault, finding the particular piece of evidence about Special Projects (depending on Survivor contact chosen):
- Lo wants a seed breakdown.
- David wants old secrets about Eclipse.
- Hel wants a Slags chemical study.
- Dr. Amundsen wants a Special Projects History report.
Infiltrating the Records Office
There are several options to enter the Records Office:
- Enter the Midgard Oldtown Lobby directly:
- Charge in against 2 Internal Security (baton).
- Or: Aquire 3 office worker outfit parts and walk through:
- Sealed briefcase (access Misty offices - see below)
- Various suit tops
- Various suit pants
- Or: Access via the Misty Offices:
- Learn about the blueprints by exploring the Construction Site:
- Give out Metros Light to the crew while NOT in construction worker outfit.
- Doing this multiple times seems to increase the chance of finding a drunk supervisor. May need to do at least twice?
- Acquire a construction worker outfit, with hard hat.
- Various options - adventure with Midgard cap+comfy jeans+electrical kit to get a loaner hat, or ???
- While in disguise, ask the drunk crew supervisor about Oldtown to find out about blueprints. (NOTE: the construction site workers sober up daily — you may need to provide more beer each day if you do this part over multiple days)
- Or: Aquire office worker outfit and talk to the lot inspector about blueprints.
- Give out Metros Light to the crew while NOT in construction worker outfit.
- Ask the lot inspector for the blueprints while dressed in office worker [1] or construction worker [2].
- Use Oldtown blueprints.
- Maintain Etheric and find the Unreal Elevator.
- Aquire Parasitic Vine effect.
- Talk to the Massive Flower:
- Offer praise one or more times to learn Implant Seed.
- Ask to be let across.
- Go elsewhere and implant 10-12? seeds in other opponents.
- Ask to be let across again.
- Learn about the blueprints by exploring the Construction Site:
- Or: Access via the OmniTech BigDig:
- Acquire the Juryrigged Antenna effect and hacking gear.
- Construction site disguises / Metros Light may help avoid some combat encounters while you are here.
- Find the OmniTech BigDig hacking encounter and Command or Command+View the Drive Control until you position it.
- Engage the Drill Control with a Command.
- Find the Dig Doug Down encounter to enter the vault directly (skip "Accessing the Records Vault" below).
- Once in the office, you can re-enter more easily in the future by acquiring a Midgard records ID.
Accessing the Records Vault
- Find the Vault entrance (Explore 10 times? any of the following help):
- Maze of Cubicles noncombat
- Water Cooler Rambling: Cut in (need office worker outfit)
- Water Cooler Rambling: Ask about the vault (need containment suit outfit)
- Group of Office Workers: Just chat and then ask about the vault (need Midgard records ID)
- Gain access to the vault:
- Knock politely after helping the massive flower enough
- Or: craft and install a Midgard Records cybereye
- Or: hack the Employee IDs routine of the Records Office Network (need juryrigged antenna and hacking gear)
- Or: raise the panic enough and attack the 2 guards
- Or: raise the panic enough and sneak past with at least 13 stealth power

- Raise alert until all the guards are gone
- Check out the files in the break room
- Turn in the Slags chemical study to Hel
- David:
- Maintain Etheric.
- Find the Floating Skull In The Niche and talk to it about Baldur (The Fae Illumination may help speed up exploration if you have Fae Sight).
- Talk to Mim In The Niche and ask about Eclipse
- Talk to Mim In The Niche about what's happening now and report to David
- Lo:
- Find the Cold Storage
- Check it for Special Projects
- (Optional: Pry open the controls to hint at using acid)
- Apply powerful acid
- (Optional: Check the wires to hint at using a signal analysis circuit)
- Use a signal analysis circuit
- Craft a vault bypass circuit
- Add the bypass
- Check it out to get a generation zero sample
- Use the protein analyzer on the generation zero sample
- Turn in the seed breakdown to Lo
