Responses to Functions
Function | Message | U | Result |
---|---|---|---|
Offense = 1-3? | You hammer at the redirector, but it deflects your attacks. | * | |
Offense = 3 (sometimes?) Offense ≥ 4 (always?) |
You hammer mercilessly at the redirector, eventually crashing it out. | O | Removes routine. Gain 2 XP |
Defense ≥ 1 + Offense ≥ 2? | You set up defenses to bounce your attack back into the redirector, trapping it in a cycle until it's destroyed. | O | Removes routine. Gain 2 XP |
View | You attempt to view the redirector, but just end up with an unrelated site. | ? | |
View, with some condition? | You view the redirector, careful not to let it send your requests out into the void. As a defense, it seems intended to throw you off the trail rather than kick you out directly. If you can't manage to take it out, you might not even be able to find your way back for a second chance. |

Command Defense Other |
The redirector sends your batch somewhere in the void. | 0-1 |
Active Responses
Every round with this routine active, you get the following response:
The relay redirects you and you can't find your way back.
(Disconnect. Lose all energy of any Relay Search effect.)
Or, if you used enough Defense (sometimes):
Your defenses manage to prevent the relay from redirecting you.*
* Combination of "You hammer at the redirector, but it deflects your attacks. Your defenses manage to prevent the relay from redirecting you" is about 3 unsubtle, possibly more at high offence. Needs more spading to tell which unsubtle comes from which.
