Initial Text
You find a man painting a pillar with what looks like blood, although his earlier works have already dried to a smeared brown. There might be some deeper meaning, but it looks almost natural as it is now, like the concrete simply turned that color over years of neglect.

Ask about his art
During Halloween 2021:
He points at a Rorschach blot on the wall that faintly resembles a butterfly. "The older generation always wants to tell everyone what to do… could always bend knee to them. Their servants kneel but at least kings and queens protect them from disease and… whatever things dig beneath."
He stares off for a while before continuing "you ever see that old episode of Matsuo where the White Worm is gonna devour everything and he needs to team up with the Worldsoul? Great episode."

Or, during Halloween 2020:
He looks at the jagged symbols on the wall. "Outsiders watch and learn, while the eye wants to build something new. Funny, isn't it?" He pauses, coldly, as though waiting for you to laugh.
"Meanwhile in the background," he points at a bit of blood in a pattern that looks like circuitry, "the neighbors wonder if blurring flesh and machine can blur waking and dreams."
