Initial Text

An old man glances up at you from a nearby table. "Ahhhhhh, you look like someone with discriminating tastes my friend. Are you perhaps interested in my… specialty wares?"

He glances from side to side. "Using the old currency, the coins, you know what I mean?"

Or, without old coins:

An aging man at a table motions over to you. "Ahhhhh, my friend. Would you be interested in some weapons? Some tools of the trade, if you will?"

He goes on to explain "We've got a new shipment of MK-9 rifles, whole crates of explosives from Oceania, and razor knuckles if you're into that sort of thing. Crates are a hundred, but worth every cred. The others are half that."

He sits back, sipping on an vodka tonic, to await your decision.

Choice Text and Results

No, just the usual

He nods and shows off his wares "we've got a new shipment of MK-9 rifles, whole crates of explosives from Oceania, and razor knuckles if you're into that sort of thing. Crates are a hundred, but worth every cred. The others are half that."

He sits back, sipping on a vodka tonic, to await your decision.

A rifle for fifty cred

"The MK-9? A fine choice, my friend."

He produces a brand new rifle from under the table and hands it to you. "Use it in good health."

The razor knuckles for fifty cred

"Razor knuckles? Up for the old hand to hand?" He cocks his head to the side.

"Nevermind, don't answer that. None of my business." He hands you the knuckles and flashes you a sickly grin.

The explosives for a hundred

"The explosives? Of course, of course."

He shows you into the back room and gestures at a crate. "There you go. Nobody does it better, my friend. Just be careful not to jostle it."

Tell me how to make them

"Ahhhhh, that's a scary little question you've got there. Do I love my monopoly here more than I love credits in my bank account?" he looks around and sighs. "You know the answer already, don't you?"

"Anyway, you need a blowtorch for shaping and parts to shape. Two hundred for either. You want both, special deal, because I like you, you know? Three fifty for both."

The blowtorch

He shakes his head. "Ahhhhhh, I'm going to regret this, I think. Doesn't do any good to get rid of customers. Ah well, here you go. Two hundred cred for me, one shaping torch for you."

He hands you a small blowtorch. "Start with polysteel. Molds real easy once you get it hot."

You found: utility blowtorch

The parts

He nods. "Yes, yes, sounds good. Have plenty extra around here, just don't undercut."

He hands you a small but surprisingly heavy crate.

You found: armory supplies

Your deal

"Both? I'm done for sure," he chuckles. "Here, take it and be gone."

He hands you a small blowtorch and a densely packed crate before waving you away from his table.

You found: utility blowtorch

You found: armory supplies

What've you got?

"Ah, good taste, good taste. We have a few things today… a Metroplex slugger, very nice for ten… a KZR needler, the same."

He makes a great show of glancing around. "Might even let you have a whole crate for twenty… or a peek into my personal stash for a hundred. Sound good?"

The slugger

The arms dealer counts over your coins carefully. "Yes, that'll do nicely."

He leans over and pulls a hefty bat from under the table. "One Metroplex slugger. Use it in good health, my friend."

(lose 10 old coins)

The needler

The arms dealer nods as he counts through your old coins. "Alright, it's a deal. Ten of these for one KZR. You'll love it."

He hands you a thick rifle with an exposed magnetic coil from under the table.

You found: HighTechRifle.jpg KZR needler

The crate

The arms dealer's eyes widen a bit. "A whole shipment… well, alright. Money first, my friend."

You slide him a pile of old coins. "Alright, done and done." He leads you to a massive crate in back.

"All yours. Hope you've got a large gang or a small army."

Your stash

He sighs. "Alright. It's a deal. I guess I can part with this."

"Take good care of her."

Note: you will not get any repeats until you have all of them in your inventory at the time of this encounter. You can get two of them however if the first copy is still locked in a beta reset, or if you crafted the original into a different. (Note: you can only get one adrenal pump per playthrough, so either that's an exception or the previous information is wrong.) Having the skill On the Prowl does prevent you from acquiring a copy of In the Jungle.

In order to get the adrenal pump, you must have cyberware installed.

How about protein analyzers?

"Protein analyzer? Radiation and what you call… centrifuges? Yes, I have seen such things." He nods slowly.

"But, I do not have one now. Too many shipments went missing, one of the smugglers vanished, and now our friends downtown are after me for the money. I could tell you where it's held, but… then they wouldn't have their analyzer or their money."

I'll make it worth your while

"Worth my while?" He stops for a second, staring off into space.

"Alright. My friends downtown, they paid a thousand credits for the parts you want. If you chip in half, I refund them, and everybody calls it even. Sound good?"

Sure

He nods eagerly as you transfer the credits over. "Good, good. Yes, good."

"Alright, here is story. Two smugglers carry cargo for me. Each carries one half, so Midgard doesn't know. One piece, though, it is still illegal." The arms dealer shakes his head.

"She gets caught, smuggling radioactive materials. He panics, tries to dump his half. Midgard gets him too. Which teaches you… don't be a coward, you know? Anyway, she disappears and Midgard slaps his wrist."

He leans in a bit closer and lowers his voice, almost fading entirely below the soft chatter of the VIP Room. "So both halves are in Midgard warehouse, near the docks. First half, illegal half, called 'emitter.' Probably stored in vault or hazmat room. Other half is called 'reaction chamber.' It could be anywhere, probably waiting to be auctioned or sent to one of their labs."

He slides back to his old position and finishes off his drink. "Well, that's good. I can make amends, you can get your gadget… everything is square."

Anything else I can do?

He stops for a second, folding his hands in front of his face. "Alright… I think we can reach an arrangement. I mentioned I've lost two shipments, yes? So bring back the other shipment and things will go nicely."

"It was on a ship that… well, they say it got taken by fish people. Doesn't matter. I've got the coordinates where they dropped the cargo. Near the Slags, bad business."

He holds up his comm, paging through for the coordinates. "You want in?"

I'm in

He nods and brings his hands together loudly. A few jumpy Third Eye members glance up from a nearby table.

He taps a few keys on his comm and send the coordinates over. "Good, deal then. Bring back old shipment. I tell you where new shipment is. Everything in good hands."

I'd rather pay

He nods eagerly as you transfer the credits over. "Good, good. Yes, good."

How's the analyzer work?

He glances at you over his folded hands. "Never tried myself. Let's see… I know it takes some circuitry, but the emitter has to be shielded. Lead doesn't quite work, but Midgard has this stuff… build containment suits lined with it, for the Slags. Strange stuff, my friend."

"But not far from the warehouse the bits were being held in, there's a guy who calls himself 'The Squatter King.' He probably has the tools you need to extract it."

(Unlocks the Squatter's Refuge area)

Nevermind then

He nods slowly. "Yes, of course. No worries, right? Come back any time. Buy, sell, trade, whatever!'

(Walk away)

Nevermind

He seems surprised you don't want weapons, but hides his shock quickly.

"Ah, no, no, that's quite all right. Come back any time."

(Walk away)
