Description You're not sure if this book counts as an antique yet, but it dates back to around the Orbital Wars. Based on the barely-intact back cover, it claims to tell the story of a "Transnat" doctor performing horrible experiments.

The details of the experiments are left vague but… really sound like a cobbled together mess of "science gone wrong" from other fictional accounts.

It's hard to decide if it's supposed to be thriller fiction, a source for childhood nightmares, or a propaganda hit piece. It might be all three.
Type Usable
Use You read through the book. Your early suspicions that it was a propaganda piece were spot on, with heroes and villains both wearing their political allegiance proudly.

That said, the experiments are described in vivid detail, leaving out only the parts that would be worse in your imagination. You can almost feel the generation of children unable to sleep at night.
(And, after the first time)
But you already know all about that, so don't really have to read it again.
Effects (First time only)
You've learned a new Skill: Patchwork Dreams

Permanent Skill: You will have access to Patchwork Dreams in any incarnation where Donation skills are available.

Remaining Mysteries

Podcast 40 suggests this items is thoroughly spaded:

maybe some meta stuff to find but pretty good here.

From Podcast 54:

There are some sort of underlying patterns in how certain numbers are generated and stuff like that that I'm not sure are fully understood. But that's — not even sure that would count. That's the type of thing I mean by "very meta". I think you've got that one pretty well in hand.
