Location

This location can be accessed by using Black Sketchbook or from climbing up in Chained Lake and Branching Caverns encounters. This is part of The Black Sketchbook quest.

2. Look at cutting it again - Gain 5 XP in Reflexes (Replaces See if the hero cuts it after you have cut the chain)
3. Search for a higher view - Gain 3 XP in Perception, or 5 XP if crates are in eye formation
4. Study the image - Gain 3 XP in Will

Innocent Pile of Crates - alternates with Scattered Pile of Crates if you move them

1. Look for a view in the crates - Lose all HP, gain 10 energy of Broken Bone
2. See if the hero moves them - Gain 3 XP in Strength; switches this encounter to Scattered Pile of Crates
3. Search for an image from atop the crates - Gain 3 XP in Perception

Scattered Pile of Crates - alternates with Innocent Pile of Crates if you look for other arrangements

1. Search for a view inside the crates - Gain a collection of his own limbs
2. Look for other crate arrangements - Gain 3 XP Strength; switches this encounter to Innocent Pile of Crates
3. See if there's a view from atop the crates - Gain 3 XP Perception

A Faceless Hero

1. Look for him exploring tunnels - Lose all hit points and gain 10 energy of Severely Charred, or go to Tunnels of the Black Book (if you have taken a length of chain from the Meat on a Chain choice and have a flaming skull)
2. See if he lowers himself to the fire - Lose all hit points and gain 10 energy of Severely Charred, or go to Fires of the Black Book (if you have taken a length of chain from the Meat on a Chain choice)
3. Stare into the drawing - Lose all HP
4. Look for more eyes - Gain Evil Eye (2-3)

Against The Bugs - Only if the you have searched for an image from atop the crates in the Innocent Pile of Crates, while the crates are in pyramid form.

1. See what happens - gain a jar of acid
2. Look if the hero escapes - Gain 3 XP in Will
3. Search for a fight scene - Lose all HP, or gain 4 (random?) XP and "learn something" (if you have the battered pistol from the Gravestone choice encounter)
