Waterfront Struggles

Start

• Complete the Docks Quest then adventure on the Waterfront until you find either of the following encounters:
  • Strange Conversation in Shadows
  • Ancient Intimation of Peace

Outline

There are several paths through this quest. If you complete the quest for one side, it locks you out from the other side.

Helping the Families

• In Ancient Intimation of Peace, choose Accept the number.
• One option:
  • Talk to Grigori (contact) and accept his quest.
  • Find the dock men swapping Fishing Tales and Ask about Third Eye crates.
  • Find the Pile Of Crates and Check for sooty crates, defeat the Boxed Nightmare.
  • Ask about the Third Eye crates at Fishing Tales again for 3 fresh cred chips.
• Another option:
  • Kill 10 Third Eye Gangers in a day.
  • Kill the Third Eye Sorcerer combat encounter trio.
• Report to Grigori to gain a Personal Nailbat recipe and enforcement bat.

Note: If you anger Grigori by killing Family enforcers after getting him as a contact you can still receive the fresh cred chips, but will not receive a reward from Grigori, and will not be able to start the Oldtown Challenge quest.

Helping the Third Eye

• Eavesdrop on the Security Guard Conspiracy once
• Eavesdrop on the Security Guard Conspiracy with a computer equipped.
  • Hack the Waterfront Scheduling site to bypass the Secured Entrance, then View the Scheduling Tables to gain a waterfront schedule.
• Find the Third Eye Shakedown encounter and Offer waterfront schedule to gain 250 credits.

Rewards

If you side with the Families:

• get a personal nailbat recipe and a free enforcement bat.
• allow access to the Oldtown Challenge when you reach Oldtown.

If you side with the Third Eye:

• get 250 cred.
• allow access to the Oldtown Installation when you reach Oldtown.

Quest Log

All the quest log entries start with a paragraph from Part 1, then possibly Parts 2 or 3, if you have started the quest with those factions:

Part 1:

Multiple factions are competing for control of the Waterfront following the Fangs' collapse.

Part 2 (optional):

If you have accepted Grigori's proposal:
Grigori told you that the workers are having problems with certain crates, problems that only the Third Eye are currently able to solve. He'd like you to take a look into it.

Or after asking Fishing Tales about the crates:
Grigori told you that the workers are having problems with certain crates, crates that are apparently marked with soot. He'd like you to take a look into it.

If you defeated the Boxed Nightmare or burned the sooty crates:
You took care of some problems for the workers on the Docks, on behalf of Grigori. You should let them know about it.

Part 3 (optional):

If you have listened in on Strange Conversation in Shadows, Third Eye Shakedown and Security Guard Conspiracy:
Someone's paying off the security guards. They seem to be opposed to the Third Eye, so you might get a reward for information.

Or, after getting a waterfront schedule:
You have some scheduling data the Third Eye could use to take care of their rivals paying off security guards.
